Office Workstation Design – The Bottom-Up Approach Vs Top-Down Approach

Such research may come at a price, but the fact that you are armed with more knowledge would give you an advantage when it comes to office workstation design.

Top-down approach entails digging through endless channels, waiting for someone to pick up the phone and chime in with a solution. Many organizations, corporations and big businesses choose this path. That is because they do not want to depend on a single designer or consultant.

Their constant search for the right design leaves no time for implementation, thus they hire a team of people to work from time to time, who will create the perfect design of their choosing. If it happens to be a new office design, this kind of approach could mean saving a lot of money on the long run.

In the end, it will be up to you to decide which is better, bottom-up or top-down approach. Make sure you take your time to research your office workspace and see how your current setup works for you. If you think you will not be able to handle the responsibility, or perhaps, you are just plain lazy, then go for the bottom-up approach.
